is it spring yet?

Delaney picked out her own clothes this morning and this is what she came up with. It's not exactly tank top and shorts weather here (it snowed a bit this morning) so I'm not sure what she was thinking but I like the enthusiasm! Go spring!

Happy Easter!

This weekend didn't turn out quite as I had planned. On Thursday night Delaney got the flu and took Friday and Saturday to recover. Davin and I went for dinner with my family on Saturday night.
Late Saturday night Davin took over as the sick one in the house. Sunday morning they were both not feeling the greatest but managed to do a little Easter egg hunt anyway.
Dav was pretty enthusiastic about finding his few eggs because his sister found most of them quite quickly! (note the sheepish look on her face)
I was sad about missing Easter Sunday at church but there was really no choice with two recovering sickies.
Stephen and Delaney went to his family dinner Sunday afternoon and brought me back some yummy food! :)

Delaney got this princess cowgirl hat from Grandma Osmond and has been wearing it ever since. Isn't it cute?

Another beautiful sunny day today.
Before Dav slides down a hill he says "one, two, three, go!" but it sounds more like "uh, uh, uh, oh!"

SNOW!

More snow. This is getting ridiculous! Every time the guy comes to plow the driveway with his big digger or whatever it is :) Davin gets so excited and he cries when the guy is finished and drives away.

There is so much snow lately that Davin gets a good show each time because it usually takes at least 15 minutes for the guy to clear all the snow. I just had to take a picture of Davin at the window because he is glued to it like a tv show!

I took lots of photos of the snowbanks around our house because I'm hoping we won't see this much snow again for a while! :)

Once the driveway was plowed we headed out to play on the huge snowbanks. Stephen dug a little snow cave for them to play in.

recent stuff

It's been a while so I thought I would post a few photos of recent stuff we've done. Delaney's class went on a trip to Home Depot and they each made a shelf (lots of parent help needed for this one!) She had a great time.
We discovered that Delaney's skates from last year still fit and she was able to do a bit of "skating" (can you call it that when they can't really skate? :) at our friends' house who have a backyard rink. It felt very Canadian to be on the ice in someone's backyard. :) I think this photo of us is quite funny because it looks like we're all about to fall down.

Happy Love Day

Well, this week has been quite eventful as we got things ready for Delaney's class and some other loved ones.
It felt great to be doing some nice things for people as it reminded me so much of Mom. She was always going out of her way to do something special.
We had fun putting together these bags for her classmates.
Thankfully I thought to grab the camera this morning and got a few photos.
Tonight Delaney was in a sharing mood and actually gave her brother a lollipop. He was thrilled. :)
I had too many presents for them at Christmas and so I saved a few and gave them to them today.

dreaming of warm summer days

Don't get me wrong, in general I like the snow for playing outside and also for sitting inside watching it fall. :)
But today I am dreaming of warmth and sunshine after being out in that cold winter wind.

snow fun

We have gotten so much snow and the piles around our house from the snowplow are huge! Davin kept getting stuck in the deep parts. Too bad it wasn't packy enough to make a snowman.
We wanted to use Auntie Kim's snowman kit!
I love the blue of Dav's coat against the white snow.

I saw a great scrapbook layout recently - she had a photo of her child's artwork with her hand in the photo, and the title was "handmade". I thought it was a great alternative to keeping EVERYTHING and so I took some photos of the kids Christmas stuff that is still hanging around. I really like this idea! I love that you can see their little hands.

Happy Birthday Uncle B!

We were happy to see Bryan and Jen (and Grandpa too!) for a little birthday celebration. The kids were so excited to spend some time with them and they even read bedtime stories. :)
