simple gratitudes

Today we received an update about our World Vision sponsored child from Malawi, Africa. In her picture she is wearing mismatched old clothes and no shoes. She is holding an old worn out soccer ball. She is the same age as Delaney. It broke my heart as I thought of the closet full of clothes and shoes that both my kids have and the toys that overwhelm our house. Why do we think we need so much STUFF?

This Thanksgiving weekend I wanted to record some simple things I'm thankful for.

a warm house

food in the fridge

so many clothes

a doctor

health

cars

clean water

education

family

church

My Saviour

sunny days

rainy days

photographs

friends

fall colours

Canada

reading the Psalms

smell of pumpkin

turkey and stuffing

apple pie

life
