Our planet is so amazing and we are blessed to live in such a beautiful country. The first photo was taken on Cape Breton Island (that's Stephen standing there!) and the second one is one of my favourite autumn photos I've taken.
When it comes to the environment I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the enormity of the issues we face in looking after it (climate change, energy consumption, etc.). I wonder what I can possibly do about it and I end up doing nothing. Instead, this week I was thinking about all the little things I am doing (e.g. recycling) and can start doing that are earth-friendly, and frankly, just being responsible. At the grocery store I spotted these new re-usable bags (third photo). They feel like canvas but apparently they are made of 85% recycled plastic! The tag says by using one of these bags each time I grocery shop I will use around 100 fewer plastic bags each year. I bought five of them and decided that this could be one of my "little things" I can do to make a difference. I feel greener already. :)

Great idea, Lisa! Dave and I have a bunch of those reusable bags as well, and try to use them every time we go to the market or the store. We definitely get weird looks down here, but we're trying to start a trend :)
Lisa - I'm with you here. I want to be better at all these things, but it seems so big. It's like they say, though, aim at nothing and you'll get there, so I am going to aim for something, even if it isn't huge. Boy, that doesn't sound incredibly inspiring, but I guess it's realistic.
